Call your service (verizon, unicel, etc) Let them know what’s going on. They can block certain numbers for you.

Google the do not call list and register

registers your phone number with the fcc do not call list then if they keep calling you can sue for harassment

Tell them to take you off their calling list, if they still call you after you told them that, you can sue!

change the subject and talk about your personal life
tell them your suicidal..and start crying they’ll want to hang up as quick as possible

telemarketing is out of control anyway. it should be illegal.

call and inform your phone company
that should not be happening
January 27th, 2009 at 4:48 pm
call your cellphone company and tell them to block their #’s

if it’s a machine, you can wait till it starts giving number options.. then, dial the number that is designated to remove you off the list. if it’s a person, just tell them to take you off their list

it’s amazing they got the number in the first place. it’s actually illegal in a small unknown to most way to call a cell if it incurs a cost to you. you just have to tell them. also- try not using your cell num to order stuff… sometimes something like ordering a pizza if you give them your name and num- some places sell info like that. i’m a bill collector- i knows all this stupid stuff. how to get it to stop tho once it starts is a pain. you’re better off calling your carrier and change your number.

I know what you mean and as if it’s not bad enough the automated ones call all the time also. I haven’t figured out how to get those to stop. I have gotten the ones with the live person to stop by telling them to take me off the list however sometimes it takes 2-3 calls before I am no longer on the list
February 4th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
just tell them to take you off their list..
they are not allowed to call back after that
or do this - (it takes a while for it to start working)

Register your number with donotcall.gov.
February 5th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
add the number to the no call list. There is a web site you can go to. Also when they call tell them to take you off of their call list. Hope this helps

Here is your answer. Worked for me!
No more calls ever since.

Don’t ever give your cell number to anyone but family/friends and sign up on the Do Not Call Registry. It may take a bit for the calls to stop but (eventually) they will.
When they do call tell them they are in violation of the do not call registry, they usually hang up and stop calling.
Chances are you gave your cell number to a company that shares their customer’s info with other parties (affiliated or not).
I hope this helps.

they can’t continue to keep calling you once you tell them to stop they can be sued if they do
February 17th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Register your numbers at the do not call website. It might take a month or 2, but the calls will eventually diminish. And ask them to take you off their list.

Get your number changed, then be careful who you give your number to. Do not use your number on any contest or other things on the internet. I entered a contest on the internet using my home number and i got a call from a telemarketer who signed me up for something I did not want. I had to file a complaint with the complaint commissioner for telecommunication to get out of it.
