Yeah, I'm also a Tracfone veteran! Used it for years and never had the contract hassles and bill issues everybody else was complaining about.
Nowadays I use NET10, a great prepaid provider that keeps things real simple and real easy but it still one of the most inexpensive options around. All of the advantages of prepaid but really none of the drawbacks like roaming etc. Cell phone happiness without the contract!

The only way to get a new phone would be to either purchase it outright or upgrade. Even then, there is no program where you "pay the difference." You just have to pay the cost of the new phone when you upgrade and sign a new contract. The usual contract time is 2 years. If you are unsure, it is probably 2! You would keep your old phone...which is a good thing, that way incase something happens to your old phone, you would have a back up so you wouldn't be stranded!

i think you have to be on a plan/contract to do this. ie: with telus if your on a three year contract you get to trade it within three years. no sooner. otherwise id say sell your phone and get a new one

I don't speak Spanish, and I don't know what phone you are referring to, but the best I can do for you is to give you this link to Samsung's Spanish site. Have a look around there and try to find a link to 'manuals'. If not, take a look on your network's website.

you really need to give more detail. we can recommend phones, but they may not work where you live.
are you wanting a full qwerty keyboard, or would you be happy with just the normal pad?
some data plans are expensive depending on your use. It might be a smarter idea to just use the internet at hotspots.
an att unlimited data plan runs around $99 a month.

a very reasonable phone for this is the nokia e51. it doesnt have a qwerty keyboard, but it has wlan so i dont have to pay for data when im near unsecured networks.
