Cutting Edge Java Mobile Phone Games for Free

January 14th, 2009
With the help of technological revolution mobile phones have grown from the pedestal of a mere communication tool to the heights of popularity by integrating multi-faceted feature. Today’s mobiles are hi-fi music systems, mega pixel digital cameras, fm radios, document readers, business card scanners and are ready with platter full of other useful features. And the list of these features is growing fast with the advances in mobile technology.

But one feature that stands out from the rest in attracting individuals of every age group alike is the mobile gaming feature. All of the recently introduced mobile phones have built in animated games. Let it be ‘Tetris’ or a ‘Poker ‘game, an all time favorite ‘Space Invader’ or ‘Snakes’ game; each and every mobile manufacturer is packing their mobile phones with mobile games, and most of them are bundling games developed on Java, a high level computer programming language.

One of the best things about mobile phones is that they let you play all sorts of games. Earlier all mobile phones came with just the most basic games. But thanks to the amazing programming language called Java, we now have cutting edge mobile games that have opened a whole new world in mobile gaming.

The most basic java games are strategy games. These are mainly solitary games like Mine Sweeper, Bejeweled and card games like solitaire and blackjack. But because of advances in mobile hardware technology and use of cutting edge programming language like Java the mobile gaming horizon is gradually brightening with highly engrossing 3D games that have the ability to run on a multi-player format.

There are plenty of sites offering free downloadable Java mobile games, but they usually charge some hidden costs. But I recently came across a site that offers absolutely free mobile games for all makes and models of mobile phones. And I was pretty amazed to see that this site allowed the download absolutely free without charging even a single penny.

HOVR (www.hovr.com) offers free downloadable mobile phone games for mobile phones of all makes. You can directly download HOVR’s free cell phone games to your mobile phone or you can choose to download to your computer. You can also point your phone browser to http://wap.hovr.com for directly downloading free games to your phone.
